Re: Starting problems -- PLEASE HELP !!

Did you check the wiring/connector from the coldstartsensor? Looks to me something is wrong with it, seems that the ecu isn't getting the info from the sensor when the engine is hot. The coldstartsensor from a turbo is different from a N/A engine as it provides a signal to both ecu's. That is not t...

Re: Starting problems -- PLEASE HELP !!

So, you say that the engine always starts when its cold, or warm but the temp sensor is unplugged. If you unplug the temp sensor, it switches to cold mode... Sooo, the engine start in cold mode. Otherwise dont. Fuel problem maybe? Exactly ! Obviously it is a fueling problem as when the engine is wa...

Re: Starting problems -- PLEASE HELP !!

So.... a little bit of progress today ! I started the car as usual & waited for it to warm up. Turned it off and left it to rest for 15min. Tried to start again - NO start. Unplugged the temperature sensor and tried again! BANGGGG ... off it goes :D thought it was the temperature sensor so I went to...

Re: Starting problems -- PLEASE HELP !!

I replaced both ECU's and problem still there. Injectors are fine as car starts after a veryyyy long while left untouch. So, this is exactly whats happening : 1. Car starts fine & leave it to warm up 2. Turn off and try to start it again immediatley - starts OK. 3. Turn off and leave it for 15min/20...

Did you checked ECU electrical loom?

Or, maybe the battery is in bad condition? Is it Bosch silver?

Battery is 62Ah and is only 1 year old.

What do I need to check in the loom ?

Re: Starting problems -- PLEASE HELP !!

Hey guys... still battling through with this problem !!! It is now certain it is voltage drop the cause for the car not starting some times.. while cranking sometimes voltage drops below 11v and the ECU won't work. I have pulled the starter out and being that here in Malta buying parts is a ...

Re: Starting problems -- PLEASE HELP !!

it might seem to turn over fine but the starter will be drawing too much power from the battery, the turbo ecu's wont work with a voltage that goes under 11v so you could be spinning the starter all day but the power is too low for the ecu so a spark wont be sent! mmmm... I know what you mean. That...

Re: Starting problems -- PLEASE HELP !!

i would say take the starter out (i know it's a horrible job!) and throw it at the neighbours cat then go get a new new one. that should hopefuly sort the problem out. more then likely the solinoid is on it's last legs! hahaha .. more likely to their dog!! He's always crappin around the neighbour h...

Re: Starting problems -- PLEASE HELP !!

Thanks for your detailed reply. I am thinking the problem is more starter related as when I push the car it starts immediately. And when i say pushing i mean just moving the car a couple of metres and it starts straight away. Ignition barrel has been replaced with toggle ON/OFF & push start switches...
