Driving home from work tonight I got a "Stop" notice against the engine temp., (which when the stop cleared was 111c) water reservoir was bone dry, put some water in and carried on driving. Not had any ice or even sub-zero temperatures here yet. I don't think it's tampering either (no evidence of it certainly). I'll try taking it out and whacking it when I get time.

All of a sudden my drivers side lock wont take the key. The key gets in the lock about half way but thats as far as it gets. It was fine leaving work, but then 10 mins later the key just wont go in so I've had to lock it from the inside and then lock the passenger side.

Any clues ?

I think the main party will be Saturday night, Friday can be thought of as a warm-up if people want to come a day early.

Thanks to everyone who made suggestions, it seems it was the electrical contacts on the air mass meter. The far right contact had part of the rubber seal stuck in it and all of them were gunged up with grease. And if any turbo owners are undecided about getting an MBC I can say it is well worth it.

More boost quicker in all gears, (especially 2-4). Although I'm now having to learn not to wheelspin out of traffic lights all over again !

I'm up for it. Hopefully my car will survive this one !

Yeah, mine does the same with first gear. And hope it isnt your engine mounts, as the garage I took mine to (a volvo specialist) had to custom make a new engine mount for me.

Over the last week I have seen two 480s dumped in the Ipswich area, a white one abandoned in Tesco's and a red one in a layby on my way to work.

Is it the dumping season or something ?
