Ironfist: The alloys are 17", fits very well on the car. The rear spoiler is from DBS, but I don't know if I can mention his name here anymore... Hi Daniël, good to be back. :) The car is now running again, soon to be put away for the winter though... It's completely restored after the crash when...

The Black Pearl finally on the road again!
Finally roadworthy again, passed MOT with flying colors 23/7. :D I've worked on it since the little trip the car made on it's own two years ago, and now is the time to start driving. :hopping: http://hem.bredband.net/parren2/bilder/Volvo011.jpg http://hem.bredband.net/parren2/bilder/Volvo012.jpg htt...

Hi Pelle! Good to see you're still driving around in the 480 :D The pollen-filter for the 480 requires three parts: - the filter-housing - the filter itself - small transparant plastic part for under the bonnet to prevent water from dripping on the filter You really don't want the filter to get wet...

Pollen filter cover?
Hi guys.
Just installed the pollen/dust filter on The Black Pearl...isn't there supposed to be anything covering the filter?
I have just the housing and the actual filter itself...
The instructions says that I should use the original cover but I don't have one?

number 4 is possibly the timer/control for the optional extra which was a petrol-driven engine heater, designed for the cold cold countries to enable people to have their engine/oil warmed before they got in the car (so for instance if you knew you were going out in 2 hours, you can program it to w...

Don't start supergluing sticks on, JayTee - just get a bleedin steering colum from a pre-92 car - cheap as chips and it can't be too hard to fit them (although I'm soon going to find out) :) I already know. Changed mine to fit a Momo wheel. Not that hard, the trickiest part is to drill out t...

Nice truck! Those things hall ass at the traffic light (without a trailer). The tank is just for weekends right? With 2.800 Nm between 950-1500 rpm it can be a real serious redlight-racer, hehe... The cannon on the trailer was going to be scrapped... Probably just a heap of metal now as we speak. :...

Ok that's strange The Vgrove ones higher is hot. The normal plugs are the other way round. Maybe I'd best check the plugs again then. But the hotter normal plugs seemed to work ok at least for the first 1k miles. Thanks for that Richard I know some manufacturers have higher number=warmer plugs but ...

Well, don't know how NGK plugs works for you guys, but for me the plugs is colder if the number is higher. My brothers high-performance snowmobile ( 700 cc, 144 bhp ) uses nr. 9 plugs, very cold ones. I have an old petrol-powered winch with a small crane, it has a very old 1-cyl Volvo Penta engine, ...

Volvo has as far as I know never done a 480 bhp truck. The numbers on them always refers to the engines bhp. The FH12 is available in a 460 bhp version, as well as a 500. I drive a 5 month old FH16 with 610 bhp, top of the line. :) Scania has a V8-engine with 480 bhp, nowadays upgraded to 500. I thi...

misfire on cylinder number two is a false code created by the introduction of a new design starter motor, that the diagnostic system interprets as a fault, and can be disregarded. I have a 4-5-2 also but on my diagnostic schemes it says it's a start interlock malfunction. I have also heard this bef...

Christer Olsson wrote in the book "Volvo cars, 1927 - 2000, a cavalcade" regarding the famous P1800 : "... a modified rear end which transformed the 1800E into a sporty and exclusive estate, the 1800ES ". So does 'ES' stand for Es tate, or E xclusive & S porty ? But there is no doubt that our 480s ...
