Re: Volvo 480 Turbo, Gear change problem.
If its a manual box you need ELF, tranself NFX, SAE 75W This oil made specifically for these boxes, something to do with the brass/bronze parts in the box. I put this in my 92 480es 1.7 and boy what a difference in the shift quality, its so smooth now π https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325308097329?itmmet...

Re: Front valance lower piece
Reproductions in fibre glass available from Wayne at wrcomposites, much stronger than the plastic Volvo ones. He has a website with contact details and out of date prices. I contacted Wayne and he still has the valances for Β£100. Sadly he asking around 40 quid delivery π I sucked in hard at that, i...

Re: Retractable roller cover eBay scam??
I've just paid under Β£100 for mine a few weeks ago, including delivery ! That's an eye-watering price for what is a used cover, no matter how hard they are to get hold of.

Re: Speedo sticking around 50mph
Definitely the needle catching on something. The speedometer is driven by a PWM signal, which doesn't suddenly stop and jump. Peeling of the speedo face is very common and unfortunately I don't have any faces in miles left (tons of them in km of course), so your best bet is sourcing a non-peeling U...

Re: Speedo sticking around 50mph
Yes, my only thought was the needle catching the peeling face as that's just about right where the 50 mph is.

Speedo sticking around 50mph
Hi Another speedo issue has raised its ugly head, its been working fine for over a year, once I started to use the car on a regular basis. Yesterday though for whatever reason it decided to start sticking around 50mph. I thought I was going a bit faster than 50mph on a dual carriageway so kept accel...

Re: Retractable rear cover
Hi guys
I've now obtained a roller cover and brackets for my 480.
Could someone post photos with measurements for exactly where to position the brackets please
I mean I could take a good guess I suppose but but would rather be accurate
Thank you

Drive seals
Hi My 92 480 1.7 is due in for an mot next week I was just checking oil levels etc and noticed the lhs drive shaft is slightly wet, a small oil weep. Are these seals easy enough to get hold π€ I've had a quick search and couldn't see any, or are they the same as Renault it being a Renault unit ? It's...

Re: Scotland Mini Meet October 14th 2023
We are toying with the idea of coming up to the Kelpies and onto Knockhill, not up to Aberdeen though.
Can't commit yet but the 480 is booked in for an MOT, service and thorough check over on 11/10 so we'll see how that goes
