This is really nice work that you share with the fellow 480 owners.
I would love to buy a pair of the rear lamp seals if you send to Sweden.

Re: RPM drops low when engaging clutch
I changed to another throttle valve sensor and that made it little better but still not as good as I want. Then I did some washing of the engine bay and after that the engine got a really high idle around 2000rpm and it would only go down after driving so the engine got warm so I will go over igniti...

Re: RPM drops low when engaging clutch
Hi thanks for the answer.
Revs also drop to a minimum when standing still and reving like Im driving and releasing the gas quickly.
The throttle valve is that one under the throttle body? How do I measure it?
I have cleaned it but I have 3 used spare ones that I can test with also.
Regards Jonas

RPM drops low when engaging clutch
Hi, I'm currently putting together my 2.0L 1995 GT to get it out on the road, all is mostly working but I have an problem that is annoying. The car starts and run ok and the idle is ok around 750rpm and stable. The problem I have is that when driving each time I engage the clutch to shift gear the r...

Re: 3d printed spare and repair parts
I have actually re-done the knob recently so that it is closer to the original with the correct hole size for the led that is smaller than my original model. I think it look little better overall. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/7qB5NuvF38kaeylETnunfZr4IFeaUbnBjnNxFMkjG5EJO7TYnuZIi5dyxz_6X_2kxBw5M...

Re: We need to stop this myth....
Now Im really happy that the seller of my latest 480 told me that the rear lights needed to be sealed since they hadn't done that when they were replaced. So hopefully they should be easy to remove.
I bought the car more or less for the rear light to put on my nicest 480.

Re: Lights - Bulbs and motors
Regarding the pop-up motor check the relay first. Get a used relay from a junkyard to test with or if you have another Volvo 480 owner close that you can borrow from. I learned this the hard way after changing the pop-up motor twice just to find out that it was a 1minute fix by changing a relay that...

Re: 480 Limited Evolution
You won't be able to find them on GAZ's site as Dai gets them special order through Classic Swede. If you don't mind waiting a while for them. Here's the link: https://www.classicswede.co.uk/Full_on_car_adjustable_coilover_kit_400_series/p1733344_16415871.aspx Yeah the two tone is different. It's t...

Re: 480 Limited Evolution
This will be really interesting to follow. Specifically the engine tuning and suspension since I have one 480 Turbo that I want to tune also. By the way what GAZ coilovers are you going to use? I have tried to find some coilover kit from a known manufacturer but have not found anything. By the way t...

Re: No more original spark plugs
In my old Haynes service book NGK-BPR6ES was recommended so I used them on my old 1990 Turbo (cat) for many years. Also tested NGK-BPR7ES that can handle more heat since I ran with 0,75bar turbo boost but went back to NGK-BPR6ES since I felt they ran little smother and I never had any problems on th...

Re: rear drains, where does the water come from?
On my old 480 with sun roof I cannot remember seeing any draining holes in the list around the sun roof. From what I know the sunroof should be leak free, and I haven't had any big problems with water coming in on that car in the rear. But on my current 480's the sealant around the rear light and th...

Re: Genius idea or crazy drunken fool?
Don't think GDPR should be a problem since in Sweden you can pay to get a list of all cars and owners from the government based on certain brand, model, year and even stuff like age and gender. Little scary but I have actually been contacted buy a person interested in buying my car (not a 480 :) ) ...

Re: 3d printed spare and repair parts
Greetings Everybody, bit lost about who's doing what with 3D printed items. I could use the following 3D printed items: 2x repair kit for window operating mechanisms, 1x L/H & 1x R/H DRL lens covers - I like the look of the ones Ortovox77 is developing. 6x door trim clips (the round ones). Can anyo...

Re: Car does not start with a specific dashboard
The ability of a Volvo 480 to start has NOTHING to do with the instrument cluster. :) You car should start and drive fine without an instrument cluster fitted at all! It could have trouble charging the battery as the alternator must be ignited either through the tell-tale lamp or the 120 ohm resist...

Car does not start with a specific dashboard
Hi everyone, This is not a critical issue but it was very strange when it happen to me yesterday. So I have an old 1990 Turbo that Im scrapping, the engine has always started and run very well but last time I wanted to move it I couldn't get it to start. I didn't do much investigation since it's bee...
