Quality fuses
I am sure that I am not alone on this one. Why is it so hard to buy a quality car fuse these days. I have original fuses that are nearly 30years old and the quality is far superior to most of the dross available today. Would go as far to say that the most common to source are dangerous. Plastic melt...

Re: Blinky 51/480
Got a bit of 480 work done today. The drivers rear caliper had developed a leak through the adjuster. Rather than mess about I got a reconditioned unit. All bled and working again. Refitted the fog lamps and had a look at the reverse lamps, my brother said they were not working. Now this is the inte...

Re: Aux Driving Lamps : Wanted!
Had a look and my spares, the glass fell off one and the other had a crack on the lens. If David doesn't have anything better. Good tip about inverting the reflector, really will make the car look better. https://serving.photos.photobox.com/894392325edc5a3ff3eb2bd7b2f213c978a8e64b733c033420f4e59755b...

Re: Aux Driving Lamps : Wanted!
Try giving them a spray with aluminium finish paint.
You might be surprised with how they come out.
I have some spares but they are about as bad as yours.

Re: How do I fit a rear washer nozzle?
There is a nut on the inside of the pillar which you have a high chance of dropping down the inside of the pillar.
You need to remove the trim but easy enough.

They will be able to work something it is a really simple piece. Sort right angle at the top, captive nut and a tag going the opposite way from the lip to locate the strip. The original is strengthened by folding the edges of the metal. You could rivet or bond something though it only needs a tack w...

Plan was to salvage the panels for future repair/restoration.
Will give whoever buys the car first refusal on the spares I have.

Re: breaking LHD 2.0
Just to update this thread. Lockdown is being relaxed a bit so I can get down to the spares car. I have cut out some areas of body work which might be useful, I am going to start stripping the front end down too. If you have asked in the past for part of are interested in some sections to make repai...

Re: Blinky 51/480
For me the right owner makes a difference. I sold a 2300 SD1 years ago on ebay, (there was a long story was a £100 sale or something ridiculous). I got a call from the club rep, the buyer had basically abandoned it in a street. The club guy picked it up and drove it back to his without problem. I we...

Re: Blinky 51/480
I have been thinking about this for a while and not because of the high value the 480 has attained. I need to sell my celebration, ideally for me a bit of word of mouth on the community. Really not a fan of ebay and don't use Facebook. The main reason is I have 7 cars (plus the spares lhd 480)...

Re: Here we go again...
The one thing about these high price adverts is that it draws peoples attention to the 480.
I would be surprised if someone would pay the asking price but it will stick in peoples mind.

The photo shows I fitted the bit back to front ( I cut off and re-fitted.
There is a little tag the sticks out to stop the bracket moving. This should point to the rear.

The flat piece should be welded to the car. https://serving.photos.photobox.com/659854437004a5f9a5284de24861c8238b5efe27937ee090037be70d5752cd5192850d52.jpg https://serving.photos.photobox.com/9046599165eec29f707d9135d7940ae475dd905cccfd868ec2512a9277624ae1ce7c68d7.jpg https://serving.photos.photobo...

you can some times repair them but need to use proper plastic weld or add some pins and glue.
Can you post a picture of broken arm ?

Sometimes you get a nice surprise. Tonight I was hunting for a missing bike mirror, I found it in a box wit a pair of fog lamps. https://serving.photos.photobox.com/283342610457506eb9acc6ad89791d7343bf12421a047b5820f6162db09c83437b4c3ce7.jpg I think someone had asked me for the and either sold their...

Re: Blinky 51/480
I have managed a few jobs in the last week. New door trim clips were a bit of a fail but have used some sticky back velcro which helps keep the infill panel against the door card. Changed the drivers speaker for a new pioneer one, soldered old connectors on so the tweeter can be used. Due to lock do...
