Aux drive belt routing
I recently replace the drive belt on my turbo. It was routed like [1] in the picture. I think this is the right way of routing on every type of engine on a 480, as long as it has powersteering. On the 480S 2L here, the drive belt is routed like [2] in the picture. Should it be like this, or should i...

IC should give a reading when engine temp is above 40C/50C. So, with a stuck open thermostat it would still reach this temperature. Don't you get a reading when, with a hot engine, the car is idling? In that situation you don't have any cooling like in driving condition. It should give a reading at ...

Before buying a new gear, first check that it is really broken. I've had a failing odometer a few weeks ago. The plastic gear was still in one piece. It turned out to be a fault in the circuit boards at the side of the odometer unit. I've replaced the speedo/odo meter part of the dash for the one fr...

It is on a 2L 480S. The bleed point is located at the top of a T-piece in the hose, just behind the head. It is the hose running from the head to the heater matrix. Some models have a bleed point in a metal pipe attached to the head. My cars bleed point is in the hose as said. I think it has a metal...

If it was possible to remove the remainings, I would have done that. But the plastic remains were that tight, that the only effect of using the screwdriver was that pieces of plastic were scraped off. It wasn't possible to move the plastic part anymore. The last movement of the plastic disc was when...

Today I fitted a new thermostat. When bleeding the system, the bleed screw in the replaced hose didn't turn as smootly as it did when it was new. The screw is fully closed now but still leaking. I don't want to snap off the screw again. So, is it possible to get a new screw only? I'll contact the de...

With ECU I think you mean Info Center. The ECU is the computer that controls the engine. The infocenter and the radio share the same powersupply. Do a search on the forum for 'info center radio' to find more information about this. I could be a fuse that is blown. Easy to check. From another topic f...

Did you check for leaks during the run or do you think there aren't any because it can build up +1 bar of pressure? Even with a leak, it can build up that pressure. The ECU controls the pressure so it won't exceed +1 bar (or 0.9, that doesn't matter). If that pressure it reached the ECU causes the w...

Have you checked all the air hoses for leaks? A small crack in a hose between the turbo and the throttle valve will allow a lot of air to escape at +0,9bar. While when idling no air has to go in because the crack is closed and will only open when the hose is pressurised. Air escaping after the MAF w...
