Thanks for that. I have had an on-line quote from footman james based on 5000 miles per year and garaged which is a little over half of what I'm paying now, so looking good. I'll have a ring round when/if I do purchase a second car.

Hi there, nice choice of 480, as you can see from my avatar I have 2 of them. The first I bought nearly 3 years ago for £700 with 70,000 on the clock and lots of history and I have loved it, best car I have ever had. The second one I got from ebay with no tax/mot for a mere pony for spares really i...

my spare two tone ES has the 480 all the way to the left must have been a replacement from a celeb then maybe.

Looks mint to me and whats that about it not being washed, its gleaming like a new pin :D. with the front bumper sorted it will be the equivelant of 3 year old car, can't even see the scratches on rear bumper from the pics....very impressive, just wish I could afford to offer a couple of grand for it

You have my sympathy Dan, I have also recently replaced this and its not much fun.
Out of interest, did you replace with a new one? I used the one out af the spares car, I have seen new aftermarket ones on ebay for about £60 I think it was.

I just used 4 nails, small enough to fit in holes about 30mm long, pushed them all the way in and out it came. Make sure your pushing the prongs in far enough, you should feel some resistance for the last bit as it pushed the springy bits aside

As it says in the FAQ section Two pack lacquer must be used for finish to last, I can see the logic in this, much more durable. I have a friend who has access to 2 pack and spraying facilities so will get him to do the final lacquer, I will prep them with 1000 wet and dry, but just wondering about t...
