Just bit the bullet and bought a pair of pop-up hydraulic struts from Scandex, equates to £50! I guess you guys will now pointy me to some cheaper alternatives...

Trying to get my 2.0 ES on the road after a three years break but the passenger side headlight lift motor has seized. It was getting sticky when I took it off the road. Sure enough, it is knackered! Does anyone have an inexpensive spare? I'm in the West Midlands

Yes; the mileage is genuine. I am using the 480 more to keep the mileage off the 440. Oh the hardship!!

Thanks for your kind comments. I think the 440 is a keeper though, as it was registered in April 1989 and is the earliest UK 440 that is believed to have survived. There is a Volvo 480ES with 80k ish in Dave Kelly Car Dismantlers nr Wrexham. It's complete, with 80k on the clock. Body is OK bar the usual rear arches rot. Would be worth saving; the car is nothing to do with me but thought you guys would appreciate the head's up.
